Understanding the Bhagavad Gita- with Yoganand

MARCH 8-12TH

The Bhagavad Gita is a 2,500 year old Sanskrit text that offers profound insight into the deeper practices of yoga. As the seeker in the Gita metaphorically prepares for the battle of spiritual transformation, he asks his teacher a series of questions. In his answers the teacher explains the many challenges and stages of the yogic spiritual path. In this program we will explore themes from the Bhagavad Gita that are meaningful for us as modern yoga practitioners. We will use the Bhagavad Gita, by Winthrop Sargeant, as our text.  This is part of the 500 hour Pranakriya teacher training program, however, all serious yoga students are invited to attend.

 March 8, 2012(6-9pm); March 9 (9:30-5:30pm); March 10 (9:30-5pm); March 11 (9:30-5pm); March 12 (9:30-5:30pm).

REMOVING RESISTANCE TO ENLIGHTENMENT with Bart Marshall and Deborah Westmoreland

Many people these days would describe themselves as “spiritual but not religious.” Most of these seekers are mainly concerned with spiritual growth and living a spiritual life. Some, however, are irresistibly compelled by the possibility that ultimate Truth can be Realized in this lifetime, and find themselves becoming ever more convinced that a full Awakening—Enlightenment, Buddhahood, God Consciousness, whatever we might call it—is actually possible. No matter where you might find yourself on the spiritual path, it’s always helpful to know what you want, look ahead to where it leads, and what the path may ask of you.
Join Bart Marshall and Deborah Westmoreland for an in-depth look at “waking up”—what it is, what it isn’t, and what might be done to help bring it on.

Yoga is being peaceful and serene in chaos and conflict.
We get there through practice.

In this 3-hour workshop with Yoganand Michael Carroll we will learn about what ancient yogis wanted to obtain from their practice. Then we will have a chance to practice being peaceful and serene in a physically challenging, strength- and endurance-enhancing 2 1/2-hour Pranakriya yoga class. Meet your own resistance with persistence while remaining steady as you realize how much you are capable of.
