PranakriyaTM 200hr Basic Yoga Teacher Training Program
Our Yoga Teacher Training program is for yoga practitioners who have a love for yoga born out of practice. We help these practitioners develop the skills needed to share yoga with students as professional teachers.
You must meet the following requirements to take our program:
-At least two years of yoga practice (at least six months of classes with a certified instructor.)
-The ability to demonstrate an experiential understanding of yoga practice and its benefits.
The training is taught in nine intensive weekends, and class size is limited to 18 students. This format supports students having time to integrate the material, complete homework, and prepare for assigned practice teach sessions. A cap of 18 students is conducive to an interactive student/teacher relationship.
In the first half of the program students will learn an effective methodology for teaching postures and pranayamas (breathing exercises). They will learn 25 postures and five pranayamas that are appropriate for beginning level students. In the second half of the program they will learn to design and lead three kinds of classes: a vinyasa workout class, a meditative posture class, and a gentle stretch class. Our graduating teachers are prepared to teach in a variety of settings.
All sessions of each weekend must be attended and full participation in each session is required. Session times are: Fridays, 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.; Sundays, 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and on the weekends of:
9/28/12; 11/02/12; 12/7/12; 1/04/13; 1/25/13; 2/22/13; 3/15/13; 4/12/13; 5/03/13
-Tuition for this program is $2,900 to be paid in full by 9/10/12. (no refunds)
-Students are also required to purchase the book Anatomy of Movement, by Blandine Calais-Germain, Eastland Press.
-During the training each participant is required to take 15 classes from a variety of certified teachers and fill out an observation form after each class. The cost of these classes is in addition to the tuition.
The program is taught by Yoganand Michael Carroll, ERYT-500. Some sessions may be led by other Pranakriya program directors or teachers. Pranakriya Basic 200-hour YTT is registered with the Yoga Alliance and meets or exceeds all its requirements for 200-hour teacher training programs.
